Day conference/Workshop ANTI-BODIES
Monday 30 Marchat 19:00
Atrium of School of Fine Arts (Piraeus street 256)
Since the beginning of February, the exhibition "Bodies -The Exhibition" is taking place in the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, Gazi area. It is presenting real human corpses of suspicious origination, skinned, sliced and set up in various imaginative poses.
The whole show is absolutely referring to the Nazi culture of death and has been unfortunately supported by the National Organization of Transplantations under the slogan "Recycle your body". It is also accompanied by doubtable arguments of aesthetic (“we contact revealing landscapes of internal beauty”), scientific-pedagogic (“we know our body and its anatomic details”) and moral (“the view of the lung of a dead cancer patient encourage us to avoid smoking”) level and it has reasonably rouse serious but up to now scattered objections all over the country.
Considering the fact that we deal with an experiment against our resistances towards inhumanity, we organize, as a first step, a day conference/workshop entitled “Antibodies” at the Atrium of the School of Fine Arts of Athens (Piraeus street 256) on Monday 30 March, 19:00.
