"Hands off the free, public, self-governing spaces in all our neighborhoods"

The open assembly that took place on Tuesday afternoon at the park with the participation of members or representatives of free public spaces assemblies from the whole periphery of Attica (Park at Kyprou and Patision streets, Residents Initiative for the thicket of Pagrati area, Assemblies of Fillopappou Hills, Strefi Hill and Elaionas area, Initiatives of West Attica and Alimos area etc) invites you to a protest march on Monday at 5 p.m. Starting point: the liberated self-governing park at Navarinou street. Final destination: The town hall of the city of Athens.

We call the open assemblies of all initiatives, liberated public or social spaces to participate in the protest, requiring from the Municipal Council of Athens to give up its plans for commercialization, exploitation and building the last free public spaces.

We also call the residents of Athens to undertake action for the defense of their urban spaces. The public spaces of all kinds belong to the residents and the citizens of Athens. It's therefore absolutely socially illegal to abandon them because doing so we also abandon our right for human conditions of existence, our right for reclaiming green urban shelters, and the right for the participative, collective and common perception of our lives.

We call individuals and collectives to a common demonstration, each one of them expressing their particular perceptions, characteristics and needs. However, we mainly call everyone to undertake action for the defense of public spaces, changing them from spaces of exploitation, into spaces of life, expression and creation.

The public spaces belong to all. We do not concede them. We do not negotiate for them.
